Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes skin cells to multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. This causes bumpy red patches covered in white scales to form. On darker skin, the spots may be purple with scales of gray. They can grow anywhere, but most appear on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. Psoriasis is not transmitted from person to person. Sometimes it occurs in members of the same family.
